Amy Tobin

Amy Tobin is an Oakland-based performer, vocalist, composer and writer. Since her groundbreaking first musical, Who’s there, Gummybear? which premiered at Old Bonhomme Elementary School, she has straddled music and theater, releasing CDs and writing cabaret rock operas like The Esther Show and Lilith. Her current band is A Little Friction, and she has collaborated with poets and musicians, drag queens and rabbis.

Amy received the Joshua Venture fellowship for Jewish social entrepreneurs, and was the founding Artistic Director of The Hub at the JCCSF. Amy serves as the Executive Director of The David Brower Center, a gathering and workspace for environmental and social justice in downtown Berkeley.
